Shelagh Plunkett is a freelance writer and winner of the CBC Literary Award for creative non-fiction. She has been published in numerous journals including The Walrus, enRoute Magazine, the Globe and Mail, Geist, the Vancouver Sun and Canadian Theatre Review. Shelagh was born in Vancouver and grew up in Guyana, South America and on Timor, Indonesia. She earned an honours B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Victoria, studied philosophy and Japanese literature at University of Toronto, and was a fine art student at OCAD. In 2006 she moved to Montréal from Salt Spring Island off the west coast so that she could enjoy a real winter, one that came with blue skies. She is currently working on two books of literary non-fiction.
